Hawks' Paul Millsap Records First Triple-Double in 600th Career Game

Bleacher Report MilestonesMar 19, 2014

It only took 600 games, but Atlanta Hawks forward Paul Millsap finally has his first career triple-double, per the Marietta Daily Journal, after exploding for 19 points, 13 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists in Tuesday's 118-113 win over the Toronto Raptors.

Heading into his milestone 600th appearance, Millsap had 128 career double-doubles, with every single one of those coming from points and rebounds. He'd never even been close to a triple-double, as his career-best for assists in a double-double performance was just seven. As a matter of fact, Millsap had only reached eight assists in a game on one occasion in his entire career, with a nine-dime performance as a member of the Utah Jazz on March 30, 2013 doing the honors.

Furthermore, the closest Millsap had ever been to a triple-double was on March 15, 2012 (also with the Jazz), when he had 16 points, 11 rebounds, and eight steals in a game.

Averaging a career-best 3.2 assists this season, the 2014 first-time All-Star had a night full of milestones Tuesday. To recap, he notched his first triple-double and his first double-digit-assist game, while making his 600th career appearance.

He may end up waiting a few years for the next 3x2, but if Tuesday's game was any indication, the wait should be worth it.
